At the time of Rajcic Drago's birth in the early sixties in Split, art as a vocation was but a fantasy dream in his native land Croatia. Facing the reality of earning a living, he worked in a shipyard and compromised his artistic yearnings by reproducing his collection of postcards and photographs in the hyper-realistic style. Drago captures the azure water, rock seawalls and "time-warmed" buildings of the Adriatic coastline in a harmonious combination of rich color and intricate detail that promises a future once only dreamed of, for this up and coming artist. |
