Nicola Berardino was born in Bari, in the southern Italian province of Puglia, in 1960. In his youth he was always attracted to the arts and attended the Art Academy in Bari. In 1984, Berardino left Puglia for Lake Maggiore, in the northern Lake District of Italy, and this is where he resides today with his wife and son, painting lake scenes from his home. Nicola Berardino's paintings convey a poetic harmony of the irridescent lakes, the azur skies and the classical architecture of the Italian landscape. His subjects are intimate and invite the observer to appreciate the beauty he sees; incomparable vistas, classical town squares, endless seas and skies. Berardino's palette is rich and intense, his brushstrokes are expressive and passionate. Berardino has been participating in expositions, exhibitions and contests, obtaining important prizes and recognition. His works are included in private and public collections in Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Japan, USA and Saudi Arabia. He has had one-man shows in Venice, Trieste, Milan, Lago Maggiore, Stressa, Portofino, Rome and Bari. |
