Hua Chen's Biography

Only in a dream can one visualize the images of serenity, music and beauty illustrated in the works of Hua Chen. The heavenly women featured in Chen's luminous paintings exist in a mystical world. Using distinctive shades of pastel colors, the artist invites you into his own imaginary world filled with beauty that is ageless.

Hua Chen was born in 1952 in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. Between the years of 1973 and 1976, he earned a Bachelors Degree in Art from Anhui Teacher's University. Between 1985 and 1987, Chen attained a Master of Arts Degree in sketching, watercolor and oil painting from the Central Institute of the Fine Arts. Chen has earned several titles and awards including Chairman of Anhui Oil Painting Research Association in China and he is member of the Artists Association of China. His name has also been printed in the directory, "Artists of Chinese Origin in North America." His one-man shows have been exhibited in Japan, Hawaii, China and the United States. His most popular works include: "Miss Xiang," "Candlelight," and "Cherry Blossom." He has exhibited more than 100 paintings in galleries worldwide and in Artexpos in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
