Born in Barcelona in 1960, Vilaplana studied at the School of Bellas Artes in his native city, Barcelona, developing different facets of the arts, but emphasizing painting. Vilaplana loves to focus on the scenic coastal towns of Spain. He captures the spirit of the people dining at seaside cafes, playing on the sandy beaches or sailing on sunny seas. In other works, he displays his skills at rocky shores, bustling village streets and pretty hillsides. By using his lively brushstrokes and vivid colors, Vilaplana conveys to us his devotion to his beloved Spain. |
