Born in Palermo, Italy, in 1965, Francesco has always felt a solid connection to his Italian roots. Francesco has made a permanent home in the United States, studying at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, and later at the Atlanta College of Art. Concentrating now on exquisite Tuscan landscapes, Francesco invites the viewer to experience Italy's magical views through open windows. The medieval towns, the vine covered hills and the fields of flowers are delicately painted in tones common to the landscapes of breathtaking Italy. Francesco strives to articulate on canvas his intense feeling about the chosen location, whether it is the physical dynamics of the landscape, or the juxtaposition of color and light. The extent of Francesco's techniques is vast, ranging from surrealism to the intricate landscapes he is presently focusing on. He feels that the strength of his work is his ability to blend his inner source of inspiration with traditional painting skills. |
