Jaques Anton was born in Toulouse, France, in 1961. He studied art at the famous School of Fine Arts in Paris. His family returned to their birth place of Barcelona Spain in 1976. It was in Barcelona that Anton began his studies at the Arts Academy, where he experimented with different media and techniques under the direction of tutors. In 1990, Anton started participating in numerous national exhibits, and he received a great number of awards. Anton concentrates on the expansive coastal scenes of Spain. He achieves a sense of serenity in his interpretation of the azure waters and vast beaches, sometimes punctuated by distant figures. This combination of the simplicity of his compositions and the depth he creates in his works, makes these painting intriguing and appealing. |
