Paul Attfield was born in Leicester, England, in 1950. He was educated at Guthlaxton Grammmer School in Leicestershire, and at an early age won a national award for painting. He has been painting for many years and his work is much sought after at home and abroad. Two prints of his paintings were published and sold well. He is influenced mainly by Laurence Alma Tadema and Victorian figurative paintings. Attfield works mainly in oils on panel using live models for reference, but occasionally enjoys painting water colour in a similar style. His pastoral landscapes, often times depicting children at play, epitomizes a nostalgic innocence. He has participated in many successful exhibitions throughout the United Kingdom. |
