Norka's Biography

Born in Lima, Peru, in 1954, Norka is a self taught artist that learned to paint from her husband, Paul Urde. She comes from a family of artists, including poets and musicians.

Despite the fact that Norka is a very well recognized restorer, she always wanted to be a painter. She started exhibiting only two years ago, with an astounding success. Norka sold out on her first show and she is considered the queen of the still life painters today.

Although she has lived most of her life in Lima, she spent some time in provinces like Cajamarca, in the mountains, and Trujillo, in the north coast of Peru. Both Cajamarca and Trujillo are known as a towns of painters, factor that must have influenced her.
