Jean (John) Sindelar was born in Belgium, but moved to the Condong region of Australia over 30 years ago. This area of Australia so rich in flora and fauna, amply provides Sindelar with inspiration for his artwork. Sindelar has travelled extensively, and his deep appreciation for the people, the land and the animals of this region resonates in his large, colorful and expressive paintings. Sindelar's style is classified as Romantic Impressionism, and his expressive brushwork seems to capture a moment in the wild. His subjects vary, but are influenced by his beloved adopted Australian home. Breathtaking landscapes, untamed wildlife and exotic native birds pervade his canvasses. Sindelar captures the light, space and atmosphere of his subjects that reflect his love of colorful and mystical Australia.
