Ken Hildrew's Biography
Ken Hildrew was born in London, in 1934, and studied art at the Woolwich School of Art. He has been a professional artist for 15 years. Before painting full time, he worked in advertising and television. His free interpretaion of landscapes has over the years gained him an international reputation.

Hildrew's technique and style are greatly influenced by Turner, Whistler and Seago. His wonderful atmospheric paintings have been purchased by numerous corporate collections including Shell Oil, Marks and Spencer, Virgin Atlantic. Orient Express, and Hilton Hotel, to name a few.

"Ken is less concerned with a beautiful view than with atmosphere. We feel his landscapes rather than view them- sometimes peaceful and mysterious, sometimes a momentary electrifying interaction of light, air and land."- Kevin O'Connell, Landedge Arts.

This artist regularly exhibits at major shows including the Laing Annual Landscape Exhibitions, the Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters, and the Royal Watercolour Society, amongst others. He was a major prizewinner in the "Watercolours of the North" competition, and is represented in galleries in the UK, Europe and America.
